Yesterday provided a massive result for Liverpool this season after a 3-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Reds found themselves in a fight for top four and last night’s win has put them in the driving seat.

The result has put Liverpool in fourth place in the Premier League and level on points with Leicester City.

One of the star performers of last nights game was 24-year-old Nathaniel Phillips.

The Bolton born defender has become an integral part of the Reds’ defence this season after some big injuries.

Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip have all been sidelined for the majority of this season.

Which saw Phillips, as well as Rhys Williams, get their chances in the first-team.

The defender has impressed so much that even Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher remarked on him last night.

The now Sky Sports pundit stated during his commentary that Phillips would ‘head away a double decker bus’…

The quote, as cited by The Redmen TV, is more than accurate about Phillips and his game yesterday.

Standing at 6ft3, the young Englishman is very capable in the air and is known for this ability.

Phillips wins an average of 5.8 aerial duels per game and is always a threat in the air.

So much so, that yesterday saw Phillips score his first goal for the club and the first of his professional career.

The goal was inevitably a header, hence Carragher’s hilarious remark about his key attriute.

It is safe to say that Phillips is growing to be a great talent and asset for the club.

Hopefully, we will see more of the defender next season given his impressive impact this season.
