David Ornstein confirms Liverpool attacker has agreed shock move to Manchester City

Liverpool’s transfer drama is set to continue right until the deadline as they continue to work towards fine-tuning their squad.

The Reds have agreed a deal to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG, who is expected to arrive at Merseyside tomorrow to complete his medical and sign the paperwork.

Over the course of the summer transfer window, Cody Gakpo has been heavily linked with moves to Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

And now, David Ornstein has confirmed that the Dutch international has decided to move to the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo wants Manchester City move

He wrote on X: “EXCLUSIVE: Cody Gakpo decides to join Manchester City & parties now working to reach agreement.

“27yo faced a 3-way decision after #LFC signed Bradley Barcola; stay or Tottenham Hotspur also options. Dutch int’l chose #MCFC + talks advancing.”

Earlier today, Paul Joyce of The Times confirmed that Liverpool would demand around £85m for Gakpo to sanction a sale before the deadline.

If their asking price is met and they sign a replacement, the Dutch international will be allowed to join the Cityzens in one of the most surprising moves of the summer transfer window so far.
