Watford striker Troy Deeney has admitted that he hates playing against Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.
The Englishman is well known for hassling and harrying defenders across the Premier League, but he knows that there is one man that he has trouble against.
Van Dijk has been a rock at the heart of Liverpool’s defence ever since he joined the club and has formed a good partnership with young defender Joe Gomez this season.

Deeney admitted that Van Dijk is too quick and strong for him and he knows that he is going to have a tough battle whenever he’s up against him.
As quoted on the Metro, Deeney said:
I’ve said it many times – I hate him. I hate going up against him. He’s too big, too strong, too quick, too good on the ball, he loves fighting.
And he’s got a good head of hair. He’s one of those guys who sprays on his top as well so he smells lovely.
The fact that strikers in the Premier League already fear coming up against Van Dijk shows how much of an impact he has made for Jurgen Klopp’s side and the hefty transfer fee that they paid for him seems to be absolutely worth it.
Deeney won’t face Van Dijk in the league until November, but it looks like he’s already readying himself for a tough battle.
