‘Dislocated his shoulder’ – Crushing injury blow for Liverpool attacker confirmed

Andoni Iraola

A handful of youngsters featured for Liverpool in the early days of pre-season under Andoni Iraola.

Due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a lot of senior players were unavailable for the USA tour, so the likes of Josh Abe, Luke Chambers, Kieran Morrison, Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Mor Talla Ndiaye got game time, among others.

Morrison and Ndukwe have sealed loan moves, while the others are expected to play for the youth squads over the course of the season.

But Abe will have to wait a bit longer to take to the pitch after he suffered a dislocated shoulder.

Liverpool attacker Josh Abe suffers injury

Abe signed a new deal at the club after rejecting several lucrative offers this summer, which was a massive boost for the club.

He even featured in friendlies against Wrexham and Leeds United as Iraola gave him a chance in pre-season.

But now, Liverpool U-21s manager Rob Page has confirmed that the 16-year-old faces a spell on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder.

“He dislocated his shoulder,” said Page.

“It popped out and popped back in again. Apparently, he has had this problem for a while, so it’s nothing major.

“It’s just something that he is having to go through. He’s got his arm in a sling as a precaution and we’ll wait and see what happens.”

It doesn’t seem like a long-term injury, but get well soon, Josh!
