England’s 2026 FIFA World Cup star ‘extremely receptive’ to Liverpool move

Liverpool remain in the market for reinforcements as Andoni Iraola faces a tough task to improve the team between now and the end of the summer.

The Reds are ravaged by injuries at the back, so a versatile defensive option would do them a world of good.

Djed Spence was an unexpected name in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and showed his class with a string of outstanding displays at the back.

And now, if reports from England are to be believed, he is receptive to a move to Anfield.

Djed Spence open to Liverpool transfer

Spence is primarily a right back but can also play out on the left to good effect, making him a dream utility option.

Additionally, he has signaled his desire to leave Tottenham this summer, which is where Liverpool and other teams come into play.

TEAMtalk, aggregating claims from two other sources close to the situation, claim that he is open to a move to Liverpool this summer.

With Conor Bradley injured and Jeremie Frimpong seen more as a utility option in attack, Spence could start a lot of games as a right back.

He can also provide cover and competition for Milos Kerkez, which would allow the Reds to move Kostas Tsimikas on.

All in all, this is a transfer that makes sense for all parties involved, especially since Spence wants a transfer and his potential arrival wouldn’t eat into Liverpool’s non-homegrown spots.

And finally, he is valued at around £35m, which is a fair price for a player of his quality.
