Liverpool midfielder Fabinho signs new long-term deal with Reds

It was announced yesterday that Liverpool midfielder Fabinho had signed a new long-term deal with the club.

The Brazilian midfielder first signed for the Reds back in 2018 from AS Monaco for £43.7million.

Over the last three years, the 27-year-old has become an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s side thanks to his quality and versatility.

The contract is no doubt a huge reward for his services over the last few seasons along with many other players.

Liverpool’s official Twitter account announced the news yesterday afternoon, confirming Fabinho’s commitment to the club…

The Brazilian has been a huge part of the club’s success over the last few seasons, helping to win numerous trophies.

His first for the club came in the form of the Champions League in 2019, beating Tottenham in the final.

Himself, alongside fellow Brazilian Alisson and centre-back Virgil van Dijk have become the spine that the club has needed for so long.

Fabinho’s role in midfield is what helps everything else to function, with his no-nonsense style of play hard to come by.

Not only that, but his versatility has been a must for Klopp over the last few years, especially last season.

At times during the previous campaign, Fabinho was needed in defence as well as midfield.

The Brazilian has no issues with taking one for the team and performed a stellar job in central defence at times.

It is incredibly important for the club to continue with awarding new deals to our star performers.

Hopefully, we shall see the likes of Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, and many more commit their futures to the club.

matchday.
