Fekir’s representatives hoping Liverpool will ‘salivate again’

Nabil Fekir’s representatives are reportedly hoping that Liverpool will ‘salivate again’ in their pursuit of the French midfielder, according to Get French Football News.

Despite having a deal agreed for the transfer of the 24-year-old, including personal terms agreed with the player and an interview conducted for Liverpool’s in-house media team, the move fell through.

The Reds’ medical team had concerns regarding the knees of Fekir, and were seeking to secure the Lyon captain at a reduced price.

Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas shelved the negotiations until after the World Cup, but has confirmed since the start of the Russian tournament that Real Madrid are now also keen on signing Fekir.

The Lyon-native is intent on forcing a move somewhere this transfer window, and has two years remaining on his current contract at the Plaine des Jeux de Gerland.

Aulas meanwhile has stated it is perfectly possible Fekir remains at Lyon next season, as the club prepare for a Champions League campaign in the 2018/19 season.

Having appeared in both of France’s World Cup games as a substitute, Fekir is supposedly trying to “make the Reds salivate again” with his performances in Russia.
