Liverpool are expected to be active in the upcoming transfer windows to bolster Andoni Iraola’s squad.
New sporting director Julian Ward has his work cut out for him as the Reds still have a few holes to fill in the squad.
Midfield, in particular, is an area of the pitch that could use another quality player.
Liverpool’s interest in Alex Scott is well documented, with Andoni Iraola a huge fan of the Englishman after working with him at Bournemouth.
And now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool were in contact with his agents during the summer transfer window.
Liverpool interested in signing Alex Scott
“Liverpool were in contact with people close to Alex Scott over the summer but never made an official bid,” said the Italian via his YouTube channel.
“Let’s see what’s going to happen with Liverpool, with Chelsea closely monitoring the situation.”
Chelsea’s interest is also well known as they did try to sign him in the summer. Bournemouth have played hardball so far, but Scott’s deal expires in 2028, giving his potential suitors a massive opportunity in the upcoming transfer windows.
If Liverpool really want the industrious midfielder, his relationship with Iraola could prove to be key, so this could have legs, after all.
