Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ‘fails to rule out’ any late signings this transfer window

The transfer window is still in full swing but the Premier League season is close to its return.

With that comes the constant rumours over whether the club will bring in another player before the first game.

Already the club has found themselves linked with an abundance of talent this last month.

Players such as Renato Sanches, Youri Tielemans, Nicolo Barella, and Manuel Locatelli have all been rumoured.

However, in a recent interview following the clubs 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao yesterday, Jurgen Klopp was questioned on new arrivals.

Despite him stating that he was happy with the squad he currently has, he failed to rule out new arrivals.

The Mirror quoted the German stating that despite him being happy, it doesn’t mean they don’t look at the market…

‘I am very happy with the squad, but it doesn’t mean that we don’t look at the market.

‘But as long as nothing happens, I am more than happy with the squad I have. I am more than happy with the players I have.

Jurgen Klopp on the clubs potential transfer activity

As you can see, it seems as though Klopp and the club would only dip into the market if they absolutely had to.

This depends on a number of factors but usually comes down to any possible injuries.

Yesterday’s game did see Andy Robertson pick up a nasty-looking ankle injury, meaning Kostas Tsimikas will likely be called upon.

However, this doesn’t seem to be the type of situation that will see the club make a move in the market.

The returns of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip from injury is a welcome sight this season.

Hopefully, we may see some further activity before the end of the window but there is no denying the squad is looking healthy again.
