Klopp plays down Henderson injury

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp discussed the condition of Jordan Henderson following his side’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Anfield.

The Reds stormed back to the top of the Premier League table with a comprehensive win over Maurizio Sarri’s men, but concerns had been raised regarding a possible injury blow for the club captain.

Henderson was forced off in the closing stages of the match after he was on the end of a late challenge from N’Golo Kante.

The England international enjoyed an exceptional game on an individual basis as he controlled the midfield and contributed with an assist, setting up Sadio Mane’s header for the opener.

Mohamed Salah proceeded to make it two goals to the good for the Reds with a thumping effort from distance.

Following the 2-0 win, Klopp was quizzed about the condition of Henderson and delivered a positive update on the midfielder’s ankle issue. As quoted by The Liverpool Echo, he said:

He got a knock his ankle, that’s pretty much all. He was fine after the game, not in pain and it was no twist. Not a problem.
