Liverpool keen to tie down £58.5m superstar ‘for the next decade’ says journalist

Liverpool signed Brazilian shot-stopper Alisson back in 2018 from Italian side AS Roma.

Since then, he has helped the Reds to win both the Champions League and Premier League in back-to-back seasons.

The Reds have struggled at times this season and have found themselves in a race for top four.

With the club needing to win the rest of their remaining games, it has become an intense period of the season.

Alisson played a huge part in those proceedings at the weekend, with him scoring the winning goal against West Brom.

A 95th minute header secured a 2-1 win for the Reds and cemented Alisson’s place in the Liverpool history books.

According to The Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe, Liverpool are keen to tie down the Brazilian with a new contract…

As cited by Anfield Watch on Twitter, Liverpool are hoping that Alisson will commit his long-term future to the club.

With the Brazilian in goal and their options in defence and midfield, the squad has a fantastic spine.

As well as that, goalkeepers often don’t hit their prime until their early thirties.

With Alisson still only 28, the best is yet to come from the Liverpool No.1, hence the clubs urgency.

Bascombe reports that Liverpool are hoping to secure their goalkeeping position for the next decade.

Alisson is clearly the man for the job and has shown plenty of times his importance to the squad.
