Despite already signing Ibrahima Konaté last week, the Reds are still active in the transfer market.

The club have been linked with plenty of defenders over the last season, including Brighton’s Ben White.

The youngster impressed during his loan at Leeds for the 2019/20 season, and again last season for the Seagulls.

Liverpool were interested in bringing the 23-year-old to Anfield last year but failed to let anything materialise.

Reports from Mail Online also state that the club is still interested in the defender, but will face a new challenge.

According to the newspaper, Brighton have placed a new £50million price tag on White after his England call-up…

Following Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury, White has replaced him in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad.

This has now led Brighton to increase their price tag for White, which is now set at £50million.

If Liverpool’s interest in White is still genuine then they will have to fork out the cash for his signature.

This amount could even increase further, especially if White manages to have a good tournament with England.

The Euros will provide a great chance for fans to get a further look at the centre-back.

There is no denying he is a talented player, hence his England call-up, but £50million could prove too much for Liverpool.

Other clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in White this summer.

However, all three may have wait until the end of the tournament to make a proper decision over a move for White.
