Liverpool fans react as Pep Guardiola signs new deal at Man City

Some Liverpool fans have been reacting to the news that Pep Guardiola has signed a new two-year deal at Manchester City.

The news was announced this afternoon, with the Spaniard extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium.

City have been Liverpool’s biggest on-pitch rivals during the Jurgen Klopp era, with the two clubs locking horns in Premier League title races.

Guardiola and Klopp have become two of the best foreign managers to have worked in England, taking their respective clubs up a significant gear and playing superb football along the way.

There has arguably been a feeling that Guardiola’s time at City may slowly be coming to an end, particularly as he didn’t outstay his welcome at either Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

This update suggests he believes he can build another great City team, however, as they look to wrestle their Premier League title back from Liverpool and aim to win a first-ever Champions League crown.

For Klopp, it means the fascinating rivalry with Guardiola continues, meaning there will be more mouthwatering contests between the Reds and the Citizens in the future.

These Liverpool supporters on Twitter have been providing their thoughts on the “huge” news from their rivals, providing a mix of opinions.
