Liverpool trio named as Premier League’s best attacking unit

Liverpool‘s front three have been named the best attacking unit in the Premier League – but Roberto Firmino isn’t included.

The Reds have been a superb attacking outfit under Jurgen Klopp, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino arguably Europe’s leading front three in recent years.

Jota has come in and hit the ground running, however, with Firmino losing his place at times following some iffy form this season.

According to FourFourTwo, Liverpool possess the best attacking trio in the league, but they choose Jota over Firmino, claiming ‘he does most of what Firmino does and he scores more goals’.

Tottenham threesome Gareth Bale, Song Heung-min and Harry Kane are in second place, with Manchester City’s triumvirate of Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero in third.

Having four top-class attacking options is exactly what Klopp has needed for a while, giving the Liverpool manager a healthy selection headache. If one is out of form, as has been the case with Firmino recently, he still has three elite footballers to call upon in the final third.

Klopp must now decide whether or not to start all four against Wolves at Anfield on Sunday in a 4-2-3-1 formation. If not, one will have to make way in order for a 4-3-3 system to work, with Firmino the most likely man to be left out on current form.
