Liverpool given hope as Rabiot deal to Barcelona collapses

Liverpool target and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has reportedly sacked his agent after a move to Barcelona fell through last month.

The 23-year old is one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe, and with his contract set to expire next summer, a number of top European clubs have been clambering for his signature.

Barcelona had looked likely to be the France international’s next destination, however a move never materialised, and now the Catalan club have reportedly backed away from talks of a pre-contract agreement and are waiting to be approached by Rabiot’s people.

With the move having dematerialised, Rabiot has now sacked his agent as, reported by Sport – unbelievably, his own mother.

Rabiot is said to be very keen on a move to the Nou Camp, and is disappointed that talks haven’t progressed further. With Rabiot having not played for PSG since refusing to sign a new contract, the Frenchman is keen to come to an arrangement.

With the move to Spain having collapsed, it opens the door for other clubs to get involved, Liverpool in particular. The Reds have long been interested in signing Rabiot, and the midfielder could be forced to explore other options.
