Despite reports suggesting otherwise, Liverpool have no interest in signing Domagoj Vida from Besiktas, as per the Liverpool Echo.
James Pearce reports that Liverpool have no interest in the Croatian international and that they are “baffled” by the constant stories coming out of Turkey which day they’ve made an offer for him.
With Joel Matip suffering another injury set-back, plenty of Liverpool fans are hoping that the club will sign a new central defender as the Cameroonian international is hardly reliable in terms of fitness.
However, it seems like the Reds are happy to go into the season with the centre backs they currently have and as such, they won’t be going into the transfer market to bring another defender in.
In fact, speaking before Liverpool’s tour of the USA, manager Jurgen Klopp suggested that the Reds would not be bringing in any more new players and that the only business the club will do between now and the window closing will be to sell or loan out some current players.
