Liverpool held discussions about Vorm but he’s signed for Spurs

Liverpool allowed Simon Mignolet to leave in the summer and replaced him with Adrian and to the Spaniard’s immense credit, The Reds haven’t been severely hampered by the loss of their injured number one Alisson, thanks to his impressive performances.

However, there was plenty of discussion about Vorm at the time when the Reds, who lost youngster Caoimhin Kelleher, decided to bring in 35-year-old Andy Lonergan, with some suggesting that Vorm would be a better option.

Thankfully, Liverpool have never had to judge if signing Lonergan over Vorm was a good or bad idea as the veteran hasn’t had to play a game.

The signing of Adrian has proven to have been a success too, so Vorm going to Spurs to cover for the injured Hugo Loris, isn’t really a worry for the Reds who can sit safe in the knowledge that they made the right calls around their goalkeeping options in the summer.
