Liverpool in four-way tussle to sign Erling Haaland, claims journalist

Liverpool are one of four Premier League clubs who could sign Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland this summer, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk on Twitter.

The 20-year-old is one of the most exciting players in the world at the moment, scoring 43 goals in 45 appearances for Dortmund.

Falk claims that Liverpool are interested in making a move for Haaland, but Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are also believed to be eyeing him up.

The striker doesn’t appear to be pushing for a summer exit, but a mammoth bid for him could see Dortmund tempted to accept an offer.

The battle to sign Haaland could be one of the most exciting sagas in some time, should he become available.

He is a sensational prospect arguably has every chance of becoming the best player in the world one day, assuming he continues on his current trajectory.

Liverpool’s biggest issue could be struggling to match the likes of City, Chelsea and United financially, with one of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino possibly having to leave before they can afford someone of Haaland’s calibre.

It is refreshing to see the Reds in the mix to sign such a special talent, though, highlighting the progress they have made under Jurgen Klopp.
