Liverpool ‘already in touch’ with agents of £38m Belgium teenager with deal looking promising

Another day arises and another rumour of a move between Liverpool and Belgium youngster Jeremy Doku.

This summer has seen the club’s links with Doku ramp up a fair amount after an initial link the season prior.

Liverpool first found themselves linked with the teenager in 2019 when he was first at Anderlecht.

However, despite their interest, Doku opted for a move to French side Stade Rennais to continue his development.

Now, it appears as though Liverpool may be back in contention, with Belgium journalist Sacha Tavolieri offering a new update.

The club were reportedly looking at the £38million rated youngster this week but now it seems more concrete.

Tavolieri states that the club is already in touch with the player’s agents but will need to make space by selling players…

As cited by LFC Transfer Room above, the news comes via an exclusive conversation with the LFC outlet.

The reliability of the journalist and news is to be taken lightly as there has been little from other outlets.

That is not to discredit Tavolieri, however, he is not known for breaking news regarding Liverpool.

Doku is a fantastic player and would definitely be a great addition to the Liverpool squad at this time.

The Reds will see their attacking options thin out in the winter with the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

This will see both Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah away for around a month, leaving Liverpool with little to choose from.

With Shaqiri looking likely to leave for Ligue 1 side Lyon, the club will need reinforcements up top.

Hopefully, the news regarding Doku is genuine and the club are able to bring him in before the end of the transfer window.
