Liverpool interested in Joao Pedro despite Watford agreement

Liverpool are reportedly one of a number of European heavyweights eyeing up a move for 17-year-old Fluminese sensation Joao Pedro.

The forward netted three goals and also bagged an assist in the space of 30 minutes on Thursday, helping Fluminese to a 4-1 win over Atletico Nacional.

Scoring seven goals in his last 10 games, he’s made a better start to first-team football than Ronaldo, Neymar and Vinicius Jr.

According to Globo, Pedro signed an agreement to join Watford back in October but his phenomenal form has caught the eye of Europe’s biggest clubs.

It is said the contract with Watford contains a breach clause of £17.6million, meaning clubs can still bid on the starlet if concrete interest is there.

He can’t join the Hornets until January 2020 as he only turns 18 in September, but there is growing talk of further delays until next June.

Watford seem confident the deal will go through though, yet the Reds could pounce and bag a bargain for one of the most exciting talents in Brazil today.
