Liverpool interested in signing Joao Felix

Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Joao Felix from Benfica this summer.

The 19-year-old has been in superb form for the Portuguese club throughout the season so far and has attracted attention from a host of clubs across Europe ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

According to claims from Football Insider, Liverpool are among those who are keen on landing Felix, and have already contacted his agent Jorge Mendes to signal their interest.

The Reds are believed to have sent scouts to observe the attacker in action for Benfica in their 4-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League last week, in which he scored a hat-trick.

One possible stumbling block in a deal for Felix could be the Liga NOS club’s asking price. Football Insider reports that Liverpool aren’t prepared to meet his release clause, which is set at £106 million.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also understood to be chasing the youngster.
