Liverpool often find themselves linked with some of the best talent across Europe.
Two players that are regularly rumoured alongside the Reds are PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
The pair are two of the biggest talents in world football with a combined market value of £234million.
Despite the interest in previous months, talk of the club signing wither one of the duo has been dismissed.
According to The Athletic’s James Pearce, Liverpool are keeping the signing of Ibrahima Konaté their current priority…
As cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter, Konaté is set to be the first new face through the door for Liverpool.
Not only that, but any interest in both Mbappe and Sancho this summer is ultimately dismissed.
However, the confirmation that Konaté will arrive is still a huge positive.
Just a few hours ago Liverpool fans found out that the club had triggered the Frenchman’s release clause.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on Twitter this morning.
With Konaté al but confirmed, Liverpool have already started well for this summers transfer window.
Sadly though, it seems we won’t get to see a marquee signing in Mbappe or Sancho any time soon.
