Liverpool will be active in the transfer market as they scramble to add to their squad before the window slams shut.
The Reds are in talks to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG, while Ibrahim Mbaye is also a target.
They looked a little short-staffed in defence, but the loan signing of Ronald Araujo adds another versatile option to the squad.
Before the Uruguayan’s arrival, however, Liverpool were linked with a move for Ezri Konsa.
And now, reports from England confirm that the Aston Villa man is close to making a move to Arsenal.
Liverpool target Ezri Konsa headed to Arsenal
Football Insider report that Konsa’s move to Arsenal is ‘99% done’ after he asked to leave Aston Villa, with the fee set to be in the region of £60-65m.
An excerpt from the article reads: “Ezri Konsa’s move to Arsenal is ’99 per cent’ done after he informed Aston Villa of his desire to leave, sources have told Football Insider.
“Negotiations over a fee for the 28-year-old between the two clubs is at the final stages, with an agreement expected at around £60-65m.
“Sources say Konza has agreed terms with Villa and all parties are confident a full agreement will now be reached.”
Konsa is a fantastic player and will do really well at Arsenal if the transfer goes through. However, Liverpool won’t lose too much sleep over this one, as their recruitment in defence was completed after they signed Araujo.
