Liverpool player linked with shock £35m move to Barcelona

Liverpool are expected to fine-tune their squad in the upcoming transfer windows under Andoni Iraola.

The Reds are expected to strengthen at right-back, in particular, as that is an area of concern at the moment.

Ronald Araujo is playing quite well, but he has also been signed on loan and isn’t really a natural fit by any stretch of the imagination.

Conor Bradley is nowhere close to returning from his injury and Jeremie Frimpong continues to blow hot and cold, so it’s obvious that this is an issue they need to address.

And now, reports from Spain suggest Barcelona are plotting a shock move for Frimpong.

Liverpool defender Jeremie Frimpong linked with Barcelona

Journalist Juan Jesus wrote on X: “Barça isn’t just following Pedro Porro: Jeremie Frimpong is also on the shortlist to bolster the right-back position. Flick requested him in his first year alongside Olmo, and Deco isn’t losing sight of his situation.

“The player is going through a nightmare at Liverpool, unable to adapt to England. Plus, he doesn’t factor into Iraola’s plans, who relies much more on Ronald Araújo for that position.

“Frimpong is very open to signing with Barça. The Reds are opening the door to his exit for £35m.”

If Liverpool get a good fee, it would make sense to offload Frimpong and sign a proper, out-and-out right-back to compete with Bradley.
