Liverpool Predicted XI: West Brom (H)

Liverpool return to post-Christmas action this afternoon when they welcome West Brom to Anfield, who are now managed by former Everton boss Sam Allardyce.

The Reds will have enjoyed their festive period a little more than they may have thought possible before last week’s results as they picked up successive victories to move clear at the top of the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were in imperious form last time out as his swashbuckling stars put Crystal Palace to the sword, scoring seven without reply at Selhurst Park.

The defending Premier League champions should come into this clash rejuvenated and ready to go after a rare eight-day break between matches, which should have allowed their jaded players time to recover and prepare for the challenges ahead.

After being left on the bench for the trip to Palace before coming on and bagging a brace, Mohamed Salah should return to the starting line-up. Also, Thiago Alcantara could be involved in the matchday squad for the first time since the Merseyside derby.

Here’s how we think Klopp will set his side out, with two changes from the team which started the 7-0 romp over the Eagles last week…
