Liverpool remain in four-way fight for Bruno Fernandes

Liverpool remain keen on signing Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes, according to Record, via Metro.

The Portuguese enjoyed an outstanding 2018/19 season, scoring 31 goals in 50 appearances from an attacking midfield role.

There is a fight for his signature this summer, with as many as four of England’s top clubs doing battle.

Liverpool are one of those, along with Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Fernandes’ agent is flying to London this weekend to hold talks with “several clubs”.

The 24-year-old is one of the most sought-after players in Europe currently and is set to start for Portugal in Sunday’s UEFA Nations League final against the Netherlands.

Liverpool have been tipped to sign a creative attacking midfielder this summer, in order to add more guile in the middle of the park.

The newly crowned Champions League winners are not expected to do too much business in the transfer market, but could Fernandes to someone who comes in?
