Liverpool summer signing already linked with return to former club

Andoni Iraola

Liverpool signed four new players during the summer transfer window under Andoni Iraola.

While a deal to bring Jeremy Jacquet was already agreed under Arne Slot, the likes of Ronald Araujo, Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola were snapped up by the Spaniard.

Munoz, in particular, was a surprise signing as it initially looked like he would be on his way to Newcastle United to replace Anthony Gordon.

And now, if reports from Spain are to be believed, Munoz is on Real Madrid’s radar as they plot whether or not to re-sign him.

Real Madrid plotting reunion with Liverpool attacker Victor Munoz

Munoz made two appearances for Real Madrid before moving to Osasuna last summer. However, at the time, Los Blancos retained 50% of his economic rights, which was a sign that they held the player in high regard.

When his move to Liverpool was agreed, naturally, Liverpool bought the player outright, meaning Real Madrid do not hold any percentage of his economic rights, nor do they have a buyback or a sell-on clause.

However, AS report that Real Madrid are plotting whether to re-sign Munoz in 2027 as they are happy with the way he has developed in England.

The Spanish giants are also keeping tabs on Nico Paz, Jacobo Ramon and Rafa Marin, who are players they offloaded in recent seasons.

Munoz has quickly become a big hit at Anfield, so there is no chance Liverpool will agree to part with him. We can safely file this in the ‘not happening’ category.
