Liverpool target Ousmane Dembele goes AWOL from Barcelona

Liverpool are said to be interested in Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele and their chances of signing the French international could be boosted after he reportedly went AWOL from the club.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claims that the winger went off the grid for 90 minutes and was uncontactable as he didn’t attend a training session.

It is reported that Dembele missed the session as he was feeling unwell due to a case of gastroenteritis, but Barcelona are angry as he didn’t contact the club to inform them that he would not be reporting, and they could not reach him for over an hour and a half.

It was reported last week that Dembele is being allowed to leave Barcelona because other senior players have been less than impressed with his attitude and this latest incident won’t exactly endear him to those who have doubts about his character.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Dembele but he’s also keen to only add good characters to his group so it remains to be seen if he makes a move for the World Cup winner.
