Liverpool tipped to make move for 2026 Ballon d’Or contender

Liverpool lost Mohamed Salah in the summer but didn’t sign an out-and-out replacement for the legendary Egyptian.

The likes of Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola joined the club, but the Reds still lack a left-footed attacker on the right flank.

Yankuba Minteh was heavily linked with a move to Anfield, but he remained at Brighton as the two sides were unable to agree a fee.

And now, if reports from England are to be believed, Liverpool could make a move to sign Michael Olise from Bayern Munich next summer.

Liverpool tipped to make a play for Michael Olise

Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown believes the Reds will be in the running if the Bavarian giants agree to sell the gifted Frenchman.

“Michael Olise is an outstanding player, he’s shown that for Bayern Munich and for France,” Brown told Football Insider.

“He’s being spoken about along with Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal as one of the front-runners for the Ballon d’Or, so it’s no surprise there will be interest in him.

“He has shown in the past he can do it in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, so that’s another box ticked as far as Liverpool are concerned.

“There have been whispers recently that he could leave Bayern Munich before too long, and obviously it’s unlikely to happen in January, but it could be on the cards next summer.

“If Liverpool are given any indication that Olise could be available, I expect they will be all over it because he’s somebody they’ve wanted for a long time.”

Liverpool would be foolish not to move for Olise if Bayern agree to sell and he’s willing to join. However, we don’t believe both those things will happen at any point in the near future.

And even if he decides to leave, Real Madrid could have a thing or two to say, having tried to sign him in the summer.

Olise at Anfield would be some sight, though. That goes without saying.
