Yankuba Minteh has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool during the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Gambian international is currently injured, but the Reds have had two bids rejected for him so far.
Andoni Iraola’s side have agreed a deal to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG and are expected to add another attacker to their squad before the transfer deadline.
And now, Fabian Hurzeler has refused to confirm whether Minteh will remain a Brighton player next month.
Hurzeler refuses to rule out Minteh sale
“He is a player for Brighton and at the moment there is nothing else to say,” said Hurzeler in his pre-match press conference.
“I admire from him that when this window is closed that he is fully committed to this club.
“Of course there are always dreams of players and there are some wishes for players.
“In the end we always need to figure out what is best for the club and therefore we had an exchange with him. At the moment he’s definitely a Brighton player; I can’t say anything more, so let’s see what happens.”
Liverpool have had bids worth £50m and £60m rejected for the 22-year-old, who is valued at around £80m by Brighton.
Unless the Seagulls reduce their asking price, it’s hard to imagine Liverpool returning with another offer before the transfer deadline.
