Most of the transfer news related to Liverpool recently has been about Bradley Barcola, barring the time in the middle when the Reds did a quick deal for Ronald Araujo.
The Frenchman is Andoni Iraola’s top target this summer and is coming on the back of a strong season with PSG and the French national team.
However, Liverpool are also interested in signing Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG, making this a unique situation for the clubs involved.
And now, it appears as if Manchester United have joined the race to sign the Senegalese forward.
Manchester United want Liverpool target Ibrahim Mbaye
AS report that the Red Devils want to sign the 18-year-old, who is valued at around €50m.
Liverpool have thus far been unwilling to pay such a massive fee for a player who is just taking his first steps into senior football, although that has opened the doors for other clubs to enter the race.
The likes of Bayern Munich, Porto, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Roma and Aston Villa have also been mentioned as potential suitors, with the report stating that Mbaye has an ‘endless list’ of clubs chasing him.
Barcola is Liverpool’s primary target, but their interest in Mbaye is well documented.
And if PSG agree to lower their demands, they could make a move for him but will have to be wary of the Red Devils, who have decisively entered the race for him.
