Liverpool’s upcoming Champions League clash with Midtjylland could have to be played in a different country, according to the Daily Mail‘s Dominic King.
The Reds are due to visit their Group D opponents on December 9, at which point they will have hopefully already qualified for the knockout rounds.
It is claimed that the game in Denmark could be moved by UEFA, however, due to complications surrounding restrictions for the virus affecting the world, namely travel and Liverpool having to self-isolate for 14 days after being in the country.
Liverpool could even end up playing the match at Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park, with a neutral venue the most likely outcome.

You have to feel a bit for Midtjylland if this change does happen, robbing them of a home clash with one of Europe’s best teams, and also reducing their chances of springing a shock.
On top of that, Klopp knows Signal Iduna Park almost as well as anyone, having spent seven years there as Dortmund manager. It could almost end up feeling like a home game for Liverpool in that respect, such is the bond that Klopp has with the stadium.
As mentioned, the hope is that qualification will have already been secured by then, allowing the German to rest key players and field youngsters and fringe players.
It would allow big names to stay at home and remain fresh during what is a relentless period of fixtures.
