Lyon have offered Liverpool target Nabil Fekir a new contract, according to Le Progrès.
Liverpool came close to signing the French international before the World Cup but the deal did not go through, with reports suggesting that the Reds were not happy with something found in the player’s medical.
Despite reports to the contrary, it seems like Liverpool have not gone back in for Fekir since that time and they look unlikely to do so either.
Lyon had agreed to let their captain move to Anfield but they are happy for him to stay and unless another club comes in for him, he looks likely to remain with the French side.
As such, they’ve offered him the chance to sign a new contract with the club, something which, from a PR standpoint, would go down well with the club’s supporters.
Whether Liverpool go back in for Fekir remains to be seen but it looks highly unlikely at this stage.
