Origi poised to pen new Reds deal

Divock Origi is set to put pen to paper on a new contract at Liverpool, according to a report from Melissa Reddy for ESPN

The Belgian forward’s current deal expires in a year, and the Reds have moved to tie him down for the foreseeable future.

Origi has not yet signed the new contract, but it is reported that Liverpool are ‘optimistic’ that he will agree to the revised terms and stay put at Anfield for many more years.

The former Lille striker has rejoined the Reds squad for pre-season training, and upon his return to Melwood, appears to have indicated to Jurgen Klopp that he is keen to continue being a part of his plans at the club.

Origi is reportedly confident that he can involve himself in the manager’s team throughout next season, with both Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah set to return later than their peers because of their respective involvements in Copa America and the Africa Cup of Nations.
