Liverpool and Atletico Madrid are currently all square 1-1 at Anfield after an entertaining half of UEFA Champions League football.
The Reds named a strong lineup for the game but were without Cody Gakpo, who has been left out as a precaution.
Bradley Barcola made his first start for the two and had two chances to score, with Jan Oblak thwarting both efforts.
And after Marcos Llorente (yes, him again) opened the scoring for the away side, it was Dom Szoboszlai who restored parity for Liverpool close to the interval.
And Tim Sherwood has lavished praise on the Hungarian for his goal and performance overall.
Dom Szoboszlai shines for Liverpool again
Szoboszlai scored his second goal of the season for the Reds from close range after a brilliant backheel from Ronald Araujo.
“Brilliant from Szoboszlai. He’s been outstanding,” said Sherwood via Sky Sports.
“He gives Oblak absolutely no chance. Deserved equaliser for Liverpool.”
Liverpool need to defend a lot better to remain competitive, though, as the away side carved them open in the first half before Llorente’s opener.
As for Szoboszlai, he was pretty much everywhere and tried to make things happen for Liverpool and scored a good goal to restore parity.
