Real Betis emerge as potential suitor for Daniel Sturridge

With his Anfield deal set to expire at the end of the season, Daniel Sturridge may be faced with a tricky decision.

Should Liverpool offer a new contract, the striker will have to decide if his future lies on Merseyside, or elsewhere – of course, there’s always the chance the club will make that decision for him…

A France Football report (translated by Sport Witness) claims that Spanish side Real Betis are one such team that would be waiting in the wings if Sturridge decided his time in the red jersey was up, in a move that would bring his six-year spell at the famous side to an end.

Betis are hoping to undertake something of a ‘summer of spending’, in an effort to break away from other mid-tier sides in La Liga.

Currently sitting eighth in the table, club chiefs are hopeful that an influx of new talent will put them over the top, to challenge the likes of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Real Madrid.

Whether or not Sturridge will be a part of those plans remains to be seen.
