Real Madrid make Klopp first choice for next manager

A report from the Independent has stated Real Madrid have placed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at the top of their managerial wish-list.

Los Blancos are still reeling from last night’s stunning 4-1 home defeat to Ajax, which dumped the reigning champions out of the Champions League.

The European exit means that the Spanish giants have now been eliminated from every competition they have entered, and are looking highly unlikely to win La Liga.

All this adds up to Real’s worst season since 2008-09, and it is clear that changes are imminent at the Santiago Bernabeu.

One of those changes will be the arrival of a new manager, after Julen Lopetegui managed just a few months at the helm before being sacked, replaced on a temporary basis by Santiago Solari.

Apparently, club president Florentino Perez wants his new tactician-in-chief to be Klopp, impressed with the way in which the German has reignited the fire in Liverpool fans.

However, the former Dortmund boss has turned down Real before, so Perez may well have to up his offer this time around.
