Liverpool made four new signings during the summer transfer window to bolster Andoni Iraola’s squad.
However, they are expected to be active in the upcoming transfer windows as well as there are still a few gaping holes to fill.
Alexis Mac Allister’s future has emerged as a talking point after he publicly admitted that he was disappointed Liverpool didn’t offer him a new deal.
And now, if reports are to be believed, Real Madrid are in the running to secure his signature.
Real Madrid want Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister
Ekrem Konur reports that the LaLiga giants want to sign the Argentine international at some point in 2027, with his contract set to expire in 2028.
He wrote on X: “Real Madrid monitoring Alexis Mac Allister ahead of summer 2027.Liverpool – No current plans to extend contract. Situation – Both sides open to parting ways in 2027.”
Mac Allister has been one of Liverpool’s best players this season and has really adapted well to Iraola’s brand of football.
If he carries on in the same vein, he could well play himself into earning a new contract at Liverpool.
However, if he doesn’t get a new deal, a departure is the most obvious choice next summer as Liverpool will not want to lose him for free.
