Reds prepare Sissoko bid

Liverpool are readying a £10 million bid for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to Paul Fraser of The Northern Echo.

Brendan Rodgers is looking to continue making strides in the transfer market after securing a number of players for the senior team including James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne.

The Reds are already heavily stocked in the midfield department and German Under-21 international coach Horst Hrubesch has recently declared that Emre Can will be playing in the centre of midfield next season.

With the Magpies edging closer to the signing of Dutchman Giorginio Wijnaldum from PSV Eindhoven, Sissoko may be allowed to leave St. James’ Park.

Sissoko joined Newcastle from Toulouse in 2013 and has established himself as a key member of the squad.

The 25-year-old made 34 appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

He is also a regular in the French national team and was part of the World Cup squad in 2014.
