Sadio Mane pens new five-year Liverpool deal

Liverpool have been boosted by the news that Sadio Mane has agreed a new five-year deal at the club.

Mane has established himself as a crucial player for Jurgen Klopp’s side following his £34 million move from Southampton in 2016.

The 26-year-old has gone on to emerge as a pivotal part of one of European football’s most coveted attacking trios alongside Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

The Senegalese international enjoyed an impressive campaign at Anfield last season, where he scored 20 goals in all competitions.

Mane was a key figure in Liverpool’s progression to the Champions League final, a game in which the attacker would go on to score in.

The new contract will keep the winger at Anfield until 2023 as he continues to seek success on Merseyside.

Talks over a new deal had been ongoing since the back-end of last term, as per a report from the BBC, but negotiations have been closed and the former RB Salzburg star has committed his future to Liverpool.
