Sterling the most valuable youngster in Europe

As per a new report, Raheem Sterling is the most valuable young player in Europe.

Sterling is yet to sign a contract extension at Liverpool and the club have already rejected multiple bids from Manchester City with the last offer said to be worth £40m.

However, the Soccerex 20 U-21 report shows that the 20-year-old is valued at a shade over £35m – while the Reds continue to hold out for £50m.

In a list of 20 highly rated youngsters, Sterling is the player that tops it.

In second-place is Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos who is valued at £27.84mi and third is Manchester United’s new boy Memphis Depay, valued at £23.8m.

There are two more Liverpool players in the list of 20 with German Emre Can in 15th place and Divock Origi in 18th.

The chief executive of Soccerex, Duncan Revie, had this to say about the report:

“This report demonstrates the hugely talented pool of players under the age of 21 available to our European clubs.

“Ultimately, the lifeblood of any successful club is the players they are able to develop and nurture and the report identifies the premium that clubs place on this kind of exciting young talent.”
