Sterling’s relative claims he will swap clubs with Walcott

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling will move to Arsenal, while Theo Walcott will move in the opposite direction according to Barry Glendenning of The Guardian.

Glendenning said on the Football Weekly Podcast: “The inside track a few weeks ago, which came from a very, very good source – a relative of Raheem Sterling – is that he will be going to Arsenal and Theo Walcott will be going the other way.”

Both of the England attackers are involved in contract wrangles at their respective clubs, but it was revealed in the Evening Standard this week that Sterling would not sign a new deal at Anfield even if it was worth £900k a week.

Walcott faces competition for places at Arsenal and has only started three league games for the Gunners this season.

Arsène Wenger is keen to retain Walcott’s services, and will hold talks with the former Southampton man after the FA Cup final next weekend.

Sterling is contracted to Liverpool until 2017, and the club have insisted that he is not for sale despite reported interest from both Manchester clubs.
