Andoni Iraola’s first Premier League game in charge of Liverpool at Anfield ended in a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.
As was the case against Newcastle United last week, the Reds came from behind twice to salvage a point in what was an entertaining game of football.
After Dan Ndoye and Morgan Gibbs-White gave Forest the lead twice, Alexander Isak and Victor Munoz were on hand to restore parity for the home side.
And the Spanish international was singled out for special praise for the manner of his finish.
Ally McCoist in awe of Victor Munoz’s first Liverpool goal
After getting the ball just inside the area from Florian Wirtz, Munoz thumped the ball into the roof of the net via a slight deflection to make it 2-2 for Liverpool late in the game.
The young attacker gave a good account of himself on his first start for the club and deservedly got himself a goal.
And McCoist praised his finish from such a tight situation as his goal rescued a priceless point for Iraola’s side.
“That is some finish,” said McCoist via the BBC.
“The speed with which Victor Munoz takes it, he smashes it into the net. It’s all about the turn and the strike.
“Right into the roof of the net via the crossbar. This is terrific.”
Munoz won a penalty in the previous game and scored in this one as he continues to endear himself to the Anfield faithful.
