Thiago Silva returns to training ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool

Thiago Silva has returned to training ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League meeting with Liverpool this week, the Metro report.

The Brazilian superstar hasn’t featured since the 1-0 win away to Tottenham on February 4th, acting as a blow to the Blues.

Silva now looks set to be in contention for Thursday’s trip to Anfield, however, in what is a huge game in the top four battle.

The 36-year-old is also joined by Callum Hudson-Odoi in being back in training, with the youngster another who could start.

Silva’s return acts as a potentially huge boost for Thomas Tuchel, given the centre-back’s experience and quality. He has won 89 caps for Brazil, outlining his pedigree.

Should the Brazilian be deemed fit enough to start, he could come straight back into the side, looking to deal with a Liverpool attack that looked improved in Sunday’s 2-0 win away to Sheffield United.

On the flip side, however, the back-three of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger were all solid in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United, so Tuchel may feel no changes are necessary.
