Torres proves he’s still a Red with title race message

His armband proved he was a red – and he still is!

Today marks Fernando Torres’ 35th birthday and the Liverpool legend is still holding the Reds close to his heart.

In a tweet to @LFC, Torres revealed that he’ll be cheering for Liverpool and that there are “big times ahead!”

Always a fan favourite, El Nino’s belief in the Reds title chances proves why the fans loved him during his time at Anfield.

If any fan needs to be reminded of why the Spaniard is adored by Scousers, Liverpool have also tweeted the striker’s top 10 goals for the club.

Birthday wishes have come from across the globe for the number nine and it’s no wonder why Torres is so respected in the football world. Winning two European championships, one World Cup and a Champions League winner’s medal, El Nino’s trophy cabinet is one to rival.

Not to mention, 142 games and 81 goals for the Reds and a partnership with Steven Gerrard that left teams running scared.

With just one tweet on his birthday, Torres has reignited Liverpool fans’ love for him.

Fans can only dream of what other silverware he could’ve added to his name if he were in this season’s squad.

matchday.
