Turkey manager Mircea Lucescu has hit back angrily at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after his comments about the UEFA Nations League.
As reported on Turkish Football, Klopp could not contain his frustration about the international break causing a halt to club football, with the Liverpool boss calling the Nations League “the most senseless competition in the world of football”.

Klopp’s remarks didn’t go down well with the Turkey boss, who said:
When Klopp manages a national side I believe he will change his mind. National sides should continue to play competitive games. His statement is ego driven.
Klopp is concerned about the health and fitness of the players, who will be doing a lot of travelling over the next week for their respective countries.
He believes that the international break will contribute to the fatigue of the players, who will then not be sharp enough to give their all in every club competition.
Lucescu’s Turkey played out a 0-0 draw against Bosnia yesterday and will take on Russia on Sunday.
Liverpool currently sit level on points at the top of the Premier League table with Manchester City and Chelsea.
