Virals: Fringe Liverpool trio viewed as ‘dispensable’ at Anfield

Liverpool are expecting to see a host of squad players leave Anfield this summer as Jurgen Klopp shapes a side for next season.

The Reds are in need of a minor revamp in order to sign sufficiently and challenge at the top of the Premier League once again.

Whilst the likes of Harry Wilson, Loris Karius and Marko Grujic look almost certain to find new permanent homes, questions have remained over other lesser-seen star names.

According to Goal correspondent Neil Jones, as cited by LFC Transfer Room on Twitter, another trio could well be on the move.

The same outlet claims the Reds are ‘very reluctant’ to allow Minamino to leave on another loan deal after a disappointing spell with Southampton last term.

Meanwhile, Origi and Shaqiri made just 23 Premier League appearances combined in 2020/21 – failing to score a single goal.

Allowing the aforementioned squad players to leave is an essential component of a successful summer on Merseyside.

As Reds’ boss Klopp looks to explore possibilities in the way of incomings, getting funds in, wages off the books and squad positions available is crucial.

Whilst Origi, Shaqiri and Minamino all have qualities, all three have unfortunately proven to fall short of the standard required more often than not at Anfield.

Perhaps the most difficult case is that of the £10.8million valued Japanese international, having only arrived 18 months ago with big ambitions – albeit a failure to feature in much of the first half of the campaign was reasonably telling.
