Virals: James Pearce claims Liverpool are ‘open to offers’ for Divock Origi

Liverpool are believed to be ‘open to offers’ for striker Divock Origi this summer as the transfer deadline approaches.

The 26-year-old was left out of the matchday squad against Burnley, alongside Nat Phillips and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Shaqiri has since taken a giant step towards a move away from the Reds as the club agrees on a fee with French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais.

According to a report from The Athletic, as cited by Anfield Effect on Twitter, the Belgian could be the next player on the move before the window closes.

The report also states that the club are ‘looking to off-load’ outcast duo Loris Karius and Sheyi Ojo in the coming days.

Origi was an unused substitute as Jurgen Klopp’s side cruised past Norwich City 3-0 on the opening day of the season.

Last term the Belgian forward only managed one goal in 17 appearances across all competitions – a strike in the 7-2 victory over Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.

Allowing Origi to leave should be a no-brainer during this transfer window.

Whether a replacement is sought or otherwise, the Belgian proved to be beneath the level required all to often last season.

Valued at £10.8million (Transfermarkt), the club will be confident of landing a reasonable fee for the ace – perhaps added to by further sales elsewhere.

Liverpool will then reportedly ‘weigh up’ their options should the 29-cap man depart, with at least one forward arrival likely to be considered.
