Virals: Jurgen Klopp confirms Liverpool duo could be ready for EPL clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Diogo Jota and Divock Origi could both be in line to feature against Aston Villa despite missing training this week.

The pair were absent from a session on Thursday, causing consternation within the fanbase that yet further injuries had occurred.

Roberto Firmino did appear to return to the fold however following a lengthy layoff caused by a hamstring problem.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Klopp managed to deliver an update on the fitness front amidst a sea of Steven Gerrard talk.

The Reds will also be without central defender Nat Phillips who damaged a cheekbone in the victory over AC Milan.

Suddenly, this Liverpool squad is looking a whole lot healthier.

Following the return of Naby Keita and Joe Gomez in midweek, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Phillips aside, Klopp almost has a full-strength crop to pick from for Aston Villa.

Whilst it remains to be seen whether Jota will indeed return to training, should the Portuguese ace be available, the German manager will have a decision to make as to who starts in the central attacking role.

Origi’s recent form and the sight of Firmino back in training means the Reds have an abundance of choices to operate as the all-important false nine.

matchday.
