Virals: Lazio reportedly ‘in talks’ to sign Liverpool ace Divock Origi

Liverpool are reportedly ‘in talks’ with S.S. Lazio regarding the possible transfer of striker Divock Origi.

The 26-year-old is expected to enjoy an enhanced role in Jurgen Klopp’s side over the coming weeks in order to cover for the absence of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

However, often tipped to make the move away from Anfield, the Belgian’s future may still lie elsewhere beyond the January window.

According to a report from Italian newspaper Il Tempo (via LazioNews24), as cited by The Laziali on Twitter, the Serie A club are keen on taking the forward this month.

The report claims that sporting director Igli Tare has ‘been in contact for days’ with Liverpool and are ‘ready to lunge’ for the 31-cap Belgium international.

This season Origi has scored five times and provided two assists in 10 fleeting appearances prior to a recent injury setback.

It’s inconceivable that the club would sanction the ace’s departure at this stage.

Albeit often little more than a fringe player at full strength, over the course of the next few weeks, Origi will likely feature prominently alongside Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino.

Should suitable reinforcements be incoming, then the sale of the £10.8million valued man could be viable, otherwise, this is a deal to kick much further down the line.
